The Neue Klasse BMW i3 is a fundamentally new electric sedan and has no technical continuity with the compact BMW i3 I01 beyond the reused commercial name.

• steep production ramp-up;
• first customer deliveries scheduled for autumn 2026.

Naming conflict protection

BMW i3 I01:

• 2013–2022;
• compact hatchback;
• Gen1-era BMW i purpose-built architecture.

BMW i3 Neue Klasse:

• 2026–;
• electric sedan;
• Neue Klasse;
• Gen6 / 800V.

They are separate generations/models despite sharing the i3 commercial name.
