V12 — BMW 750i
Official Archive card:

The V12 is not to be confused with later M70 derivatives in E31/other projects. Engine-code normalization happens in Stage 4.
Long wheelbase
BMW historical documentation indicates about 11 cm wheelbase/body extension for the long E32 variants. The exact dimensional table and DIN/EU weights will be added from contemporary technical specifications.
V8 phase
E32 later received:
- 3.0-litre M60B30;
- 4.0-litre M60B40.
This creates genuine engine-architecture revisions under the same 730i/730iL naming. Therefore: 730i I6 ≠ 730i V8.
Protection / special vehicles
Armoured / protection derivatives existed in the 7 Series programme, but precise model codes, protection classes and production are not yet entered without primary special-vehicle documentation.
